Canceled: The unhappy chaperone

The talk will review findings of increased solubility of amyloid proteins in the presence of the chaperone DNAjb6. Solubility being an equilibrium property requires a thermodynamic explanation, and one such explanation is put forward as the unhappy chaperone hypothesis. We will outline the experimental evidence needed to falsify or support this hypothesis and show examples of data for four clients: amyloid β peptide and tau from Alzheimer’s disease, α-synuclein from Parkinson’s disease and IAPP from diabetes type II.
