Design & present your Poster in PowerPoint

This workshop is open for PhD students of following graduate programmes:

  • Molecular mechanisms of disease
  • Drug research academy (pharmaceutical sciences)
  • Preclinical in vivo research

The aim of this workshop is to provide you with the fundamental skills and knowledge to design and present your scientific poster in the most effective way.

Creating a scientific poster is both an art and a science. It’s essential to communicate your research clearly while ensuring the design is visually appealing and engaging to maintain your audience’s attention.

This workshop will teach you how to design and structure a scientific poster with a focus on effective communication, visual flow, and prioritization. You will also gain insights into presentation techniques to confidently deliver your work.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with basic poster design experience.

Prior to the workshop, you will receive blended learning material which will help you get familiar with basic PowerPoint design functions (not mandatory to complete).

What you will learn:

  • How to structure a scientific poster effectively
  • Key design principles for you to know when designing
  • Analyze and learn from examples of good and bad design
  • Dedicated time to work on your poster with guidance and feedback
  • Theory and practice of presentation techniques
  • Hands-on assignments to apply your knowledge
  • Personal feedback on your final poster design

Instructor:
