Pitching workshop
Join the pitching workshop and feel well about presenting your work in a few minutes
Welcome to a research communication workshop with a focus on oral presentation. At the workshop you will practice how to introduce your work to lay people and collaborators with a different professional background. In two minutes. No use of power points, posters etc.
The hypothesis behind the workshop is that your chances of entering into meaningful conversations and collaborations will increase if you are able to give a brief, easy-to-understand elevator pitch targeted the persons in front of you.
Together we check out a generic recipe for a two-minute oral presentation which can be useful in many situations. You work in groups and support each other in preparing individual elevator pitches in a creative and safe environment.
Oral presentation is about catching the attention of your target group. It’s about knowing and respecting some basic communication guidelines. It’s about aiming high and become good at communicating complicated matters in an efficient way. It’s not about over-simplifying or exaggerating. It’s about being precise, concise, and well prepared.
